What a fun, sometimes strange, trip it's been. 2018 was a busy year for Second Nature. With the help of some creative friends, I created a new sets of interpretive panels for a number of Manitoba communities and organizations. You can find a map of our signage projects here:

The past year also saw the launch of a the biggest project I've ever worked on to date. Expedition Churchill is a science outreach program that is intended to educate the public about climate change and Arctic research. The dining car of the VIA train to Churchill was wrapped in images, both inside and out. We created an interactive kiosk where you can learn about Arctic systems. Look for them at the Forks at Travel Manitoba and the Assiniboine Park Zoo, in Winnipeg, as well as in Churchill. But the backbone of the project (and the part that occupied me for the better part of a year) is a interactive e-book intended to help the average person better understand the Arctic and climate change. It's 10 chapters full of interesting facts and stories from all aspects of the Arctic. It started as a bunch of sticky notes on my wall and it's so amazing to see it finally out there and being enjoyed. You can download the book free at I hope you enjoy it.

2019 is already shaping up to be a great year. A comprehensive interpretive plan that I created for the Brandon Riverbank with landscape architect firm, Little Bluestem will soon be made public. I'm working on interpretive panels for Selkirk and Gimli, Manitoba and will soon be staring on more panels for some of Manitoba's most iconic larger than life monuments and maybe even some locations in other provinces.
